The 25% shareholding in Genting Sanyen, an independent power producer, enables Worldwide Holdings into the lucrative business of power generation.

A highly sought after piece of land was the once largest theme park in Southern Atmostphere, Australia which was later developed into business park. Also, in Perth, just 30 minutes away from its Central Business District, is Champion Glades Private Estates that Worldwide Holdings invested in.

Genting Sanyen Power

Utilities: Genting Sanyen Power Sdn Bhd, Kuala Langat

WHB’s interest in the lucrative utilities business is by virtue of it’s 25% equity interest in Genting Sanyen Power Sdn Bhd (GSP). GSP, an independent power producer, is the owner and operator of a 762 MW co-generation power plant at Kuala Langat, Selangor. The electricity generated is sold to Tenaga Nasional Berhad under a 21 -year Power Purchase Agreement. WHB plans to expand its foothold in the utilities business and is on the look out for utilities-related ventures that can generate long term and steady income streams.

 

Overseas Investment

The development of the Wonderland Project in Sydney, Australia represents WHB’s pioneer overseas venture. WHB’s interest in this venture is through it’s 40% interest in Hartford Lane Pty Ltd (HLPL). HLPL originally owned 219 hectares of land in the Sydney western suburb earmarked for the development of  business park. 119 hectares of the land has been developed, of which part of the development is knows as Eastern Creek Business Park. Currently, we are developing Eastern Creek Business Park 3, a logistics park involving development of 105,000 meter square of building area.
